Board of Directors
Joe Chapman
Mr. Chapman is a director of the Bank. Mr. Chapman is a retired engineer. He ran his business, Key Engineering, from January 1980 until 1992. From 1987 until its sale in 2001, he served as a director of Citizens National Bank of Texas, Bellaire, Texas. Mr. Chapman holds a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Texas in Austin.
Randall W. Dobbs
Mr. Dobbs is the Chief Executive Officer of the Bank as well as a director. Mr. Dobbs has over 34 years of experience in commercial banking. Before joining the Bank in January 2002, Mr. Dobbs served as an executive officer of Citizens National Bank of Texas, Bellaire, Texas and its successor bank, beginning in 1983. His position at Citizens National Bank immediately prior to its sale in January 2001 was Executive Vice President, Cashier and Chief Operating Officer. He was also a director from such bank from 1997 until 2001. After Citizens National Bank was acquired, he served as Branch President from May 2001 to January 2002. He is a native Houstonian and attended the University of Houston.
James B. Earthman III
Mr. Earthman is a director of the Bank. Since 1995, Mr. Earthman has served as president and principal shareholder of Galveston Capital Corporation, Galveston, Texas, a commercial real estate development and management firm. Mr. Earthman served as a director of Citizens National Bank of Texas, Bellaire, Texas from 1983 until its sale in 2001. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from University of Texas at Austin and a Juris Doctorate degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas.
Lettie Harrell
Ms. Harrell is a director of the Bank. As an architect in practice for more than 20 years in the Houston area, she is currently President and Managing Principal of LH2 Architecture, LLC in Bellaire, and a member of the American Institute of Architects, Texas Society of Architects, and the U.S. Green Building Council. Her prior experience includes positions with EDI Architecture, PGAL, Morris Architects and H.C. Hwang International. Ms. Harrell served as a director of First National Bank of Claude, Texas from 1996 to 1998. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a Marketing concentration from Texas A&M University and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Ray Howard
Mr. Howard is a director of the Bank. He is a Certified Public Accountant and an Accounting Manager with BG North America. He has worked predominantly in the energy industry in various accounting and management positions for over 30 years. He served six years on the Mayor's Leadership Advisory Council for the City of Sugar Land, Texas. Mr. Howard received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting from Texas State University.
John M. James
Mr. James is President and a director of the Bank. He served as the Bank's Executive Vice President from its inception until he became President in December 2003. Mr. James was Senior Vice President/Loan Officer of Citizens National Bank of Texas, Bellaire, Texas, and its successor bank, from February 1993 to January 2002. He was employed by First City Texas N.A. in various capacities from 1978 to 1992. Mr. James has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas Tech University and a Master of Arts degree from Southern Methodist University.
Scott G. Kochran
Mr. Kochran is a director of the Bank. He currently serves as President and Chairman of both Bellaire Tire and Automotive and Southwest Houston Tire Sales. He has been in the tire and automotive business for 37 years. He has served on the boards of Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity, West University Little League, St. Thomas High School and Goodyear National Dealer Advisory. He majored in Business Administration and Psychology at the University of Houston.
Bradley H. Marks
Mr. Marks is a director of the Bank. Mr. Marks is Vice President of I.W. Marks Jewelers, recognized in the industry as the largest independent jeweler in the greater Houston area. Mr. Marks oversees the buying, advertising, sales and community relations for the store. He is a member of the boards of the Society for the Performing Arts, Houston Grand Opera, Houston Symphony, Houston Ballet, Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, and the Greater Southwest Houston Chamber of Commerce. He is certified by the Gemological Institute of America and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University.
Christopher C. Pappas
Mr. Pappas is a director of the Bank. Mr. Pappas is a Shareholder and Managing Director of the Houston Office of the Kane Russell Coleman & Logan law firm. Mr. Pappas has been a practicing attorney for over thirty years and is a member of the Houston, Texas and American Bar Associations, Member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and has been selected as a Houston Top Lawyer and Texas Super Lawyer by HTexas and Texas Monthly Magazines. He is a frequent speaker and lecturer on legal topics and currently serves as Vice-Chairman/Director of Scenic Houston, and as an Advisory Director for Project Lift & The Frank Evans Center For Conflict Resolution. Mr. Pappas holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Texas at Austin and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston, Bates School of Law.
David E. Preng
Mr. Preng is a director of the Bank. He has been President and CEO of Preng & Associates since its inception in 1980. Previously, he spent six years in the executive search industry with two international and one national search firm. His prior experience includes financial, managerial and executive positions with Shell Oil, Litton Industries and Southwest Industries. Mr. Preng is a director of Call Dive International, where he Chairs the Nominating and Governance Committee and is a member of the Compensation Committee. Mr. Preng was a Director of Remington Oil and Gas where he served on the Compensation and Nomination & Governance Committees from 1997-2003 and as head director from 2003-2006 until its acquisition by Helix Energy Solutions. Mr. Preng also served on the boards of directors of BPI Energy Holdings, where he was a member of the Compensation and Nominating Committees, and Maverick Oil & Gas, Inc., where he was chairman and also chaired its Compensation Committee. He currently serves as a Board Member of the National Association of Corporate Directors-Houston Chapter, a Fellow of the Institute of Directors in London. He is a member of several international technical and business organizations and has served three three-year terms as a Director of the British American Business Council and was its President in 1999 and 2000. Mr. Preng holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Marquette University and a Master of Business Administration from DePaul University.
James A. Woodall, Jr
Mr. Woodall is Executive Chairman of the Board of the Bank and has served in that capacity since January 4, 2010. Mr. Woodall has been involved in banking since 1972 in various capacities and since 1980 as the Chief Executive Officer of several banks located in Southeast Texas. Immediately prior to joining the Bank, from 2001 until 2009, Mr. Woodall served as the Chief Executive Officer of Legend Bancorp and Legend Bank, a $550 million dollar institution with nine locations in North Texas. Mr. Woodall has been involved with numerous professional organizations for many years including the American Bankers Association and the Texas Bankers Association, serving as Chairman of the Board of the Texas Bankers Association in 1999/2000. After serving in the United States Marine Corps from 1965 to 1969, Mr. Woodall attended and is a graduate of Sam Houston State University and has a Bachelors of Science degree in Economics.
